Donate to Promote IM Legitimization
IMFA acts to establish a significantly influential lobby group, which will work to maintain contact with governmental offices, the Ministry of Health, the National Insurance Institute of Israel, health insurance companies, HMOs and other bodies who sell and provide medical care plans or cover medical costs, towards the legitimization of Integrative Medicine in the mind of the public as well as professional traditional health providers and organizations; and which will encourage them to endorse and offer Integrative Medicinal treatments and therapy as an integral part of their service strategies
In order to achieve all of the above, IMFA will need funding for the purpose of:
- Hiring the services of a lobbyist who will be fully dedicated to promoting our cause in the public sector, the Knesset, governmental offices, and national regulatory authorities; to pushing towards the regulation of funding and subsidization of IM; and to ensuring the inclusion of relevant treatments and therapies into the Medical Services Basket.
- Engaging the support and endorsement of Knesset representatives and senior directors in relevant institutions to broaden the medical services basket to include Integrative Medicine treatments.
- Formulating relevant data-based business plans which will enable HMOs and insurance companies to realize that funding relevant IM therapies and treatments and making them accessible to large portions of the society, will have a huge impact on reducing budgets. Massive budgets are today spent inefficiently. The best example would be the budgets allocated today for Fibromyalgia patients. The National Insurance Institute of Israel alone has a yearly expenditure of over 1.5 billion NIS on Fibro patients, on account of loss of earning-capacity, pain-clinic treatments and disability pensions, in addition to budgets spent on these patients by HMOs. Despite huge sums of money spent, patients do not recover from their condition, nor do they resume normal functioning abilities. On the contrary, their suffering persists, and so does their families’ and loved ones’ agony surrounding this challenge. They still need to drag themselves from one pain clinic to the next, and they still need help and support around the clock. However, IM has a much more comprehensive solution to this condition, as well as to other auto-immune conditions, which can go as far as to bring those patients back to normal life, and to ease their pain considerably, while requiring much smaller budgets.
- IMFA’s yearly budget estimate for this project is NIS 250,000
